Choice People are working with an award winning property in Limerick to recruit for an Assistant Food Services Manager to oversee the daily operations of all food outlets including banqueting, casual dining, fine dining and the outdoor catering services.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of F&B and banqueting experience in the operation of weddings and other large gatherings in a high volume catering environment. They will be reliable, organised, be a good team player and have a natural flair and enthusiasm for dealing with and communicating with people. Exceptional attention to detail is essential as well as the ability to work on your own initiative.
Duties include:
- Assist and manage the availability and co-ordination of the hotel function diary within the strategy of the hotel
- Deliver high level of service in all wedding and banqueting events.
- To assist with all event planning according to 10 day functions sheets, but also monthly and quarterly, ensuring that full equipment and staffing levels are as required.
- Monitoring all details on function sheets is accurate, correct and concise allowing for proper execution of all events.
- Maintaining the presentation of all function and conference room areas, via a scheduled cleaning and maintenance programme.
- Setting and development function service standards, documenting and implementing through a planned training programme.
- Preparing and updating menus, floor plans and table plans for all functions
- Following up on any provisional bookings that have been made
- Proactively handle any arising issues/ problems on the event day, communicating any problems that arise in an up-front manner with the client and with senior management
- Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations through weekly meeting and daily wedding report, ensuring a detailed report on any service /staffing related issues /occurrence on the day and consulting with HOD’s on how to remedy these issues, Taking action & implementing on any agreed solutions.
- To attend HOD meetings (minimum of 1:3) and ensure minutes of such meetings are maintained and ensure that any service changes / organisational changes resulting from such meetings are implemented and any actions delegated are followed through.
- Leading by example with grooming standards, setting the standard at all times
