Choice People are working in collaboration with The Wicklow Heather Restaurant, which is under new management since November 2022.

With its continued success, the restaurant is actively seeking an experienced Deputy GM/Restaurant Manager to join their team. The role involves strategic management and ensuring excellent service for guests.

As Restaurant Manager you will assist senior management in all service operations throughout the property. This is a 7 day operation offering breakfast/lunch and dinner, private dining, private/public functions, afternoon tea and coffee service. Careful attention is required for the supervision, motivation and development of the service team to the highest standard of work, presentation, communication and cooperation throughout the entire operation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following areas;

  • Operations – visible presence on the floor, meeting, greeting customers and directing staff.
  • Customer Relations – Complaint handling, feedback reports etc.
  • Purchasing and stock control – performing stocktakes, spot checking deliveries assessing quality, quantity against invoices, compiling orders etc.
  • Administrative Tasks – Finance, Human Resources and Sales and Marketing/Promotions
  • Security- Cash handling, locking up the premises, checking CCTV’s cameras to ensure they are in working order across the property.
  • Training & Development – conducting training needs analysis, providing on the job training.
  • Hygiene, Health & Safety – HACCP, Fire Walks etc.

Key requirements:

  • 3-5 years as a Restaurant Manager in a busy, fast paced Gastro Bar or Bistro in Ireland.
  • Strong food and beverage product knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership ability.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong IT skills
  • Highest level of attention to detail
  • Hands on approach, able to work as part of a Team or on own initiative
  • Own transport and full license.
