We are currently looking to recruit for an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to join the established Management Team at this premium hotel in Galway. At this senior level, you will work in tandem with the teams overseeing all catering operations from the fine dining restaurant, large banqueting facilities and daily service of breakfast, snacks, afternoon teas and casual dining. This hotel property has a wonderful reputation.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Previous experience is required in a similar role in a 4 or 5 star background
  • Excellent knowledge of Food and Beverage (including wine)
  • Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills
  • Extensive experience in F&B staff training, knowledge and skills, grooming, customer service and service etiquette
  • Fluent English
  • 3rd level Hospitality Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Management Soft Skills, Leadership and Delegation

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the smooth running of the Restaurant and all other food service throughout the Hotel, through the supervision and delegation of duties including private dining, drawing room and room service.
  • To provide 5 star experience to all customers of the resort at all times.
  • To control costs in the department.
  • To work closely with the Cost Controller on stock takes for food and wine.
  • To work with the Chef de Cuisine and be the key contact/liaison between the kitchen and food service.
  • Liaise with sales on menu planning and agreements
  • Assist in the back of house areas
  • To manage and supervise the food & beverage service in the restaurant, private dining and meeting rooms, ensuring standards are maintained.
  • To ensure maintenance issues are reported and followed up accordingly.
  • To supervise all waste disposal from all events, ensuring all waste is disposed of correctly, in accordance with our recycling policy.
  • To promote a positive working atmosphere at all times.
  • To monitor and ensure standards are achieved and adhered to regarding service, uniforms and behaviour of staff
  • To roster staff in accordance with business levels and ensure the time and attendance system is updated and maintained.
  • To provide feedback to management on guest complaints and compliments.
  • To train and develop new and existing staff.
