Job description

Your Role:

  • Operational Leadership: Ensure the efficient and effective running of hotel guest and operational areas while on shift.

  • Customer Service Excellence: Maintain a strong presence and focus on exceptional customer service.

  • Safety & Security: Protect the safety of guests, customers, staff, and property at all times.

  • Shift Management: Oversee the hotel during early or late shifts, ensuring all departments are open for service.

  • Support Across Departments: Assist F&B, Reception, and other areas during peak periods.

  • Team Coordination: Liaise with other hotel departments to cover any ad hoc absences or rostering issues.

  • Issue Resolution: Handle guest issues and complaints with confidence and politeness.

  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all standards of dress and PPE are used where appropriate.

  • Public Areas Management: Maintain the neat and tidy appearance of the hotel grounds and public areas.

  • Financial Procedures: Follow daily cash handling and till routines.

  • Event Support: Understand daily events and occupancy to support the Meeting Excellence department.

  • Maintenance Liaison: Report and follow up on maintenance issues promptly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: At least 18 months to 2 years in a Duty Manager role within a hotel.

  • Front Office Skills: Experience with PMS systems, preferably Opera, for checking in and out.

  • Communication & Organization: Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Pressure Handling: Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrating excellent people skills.

  • Professional Appearance: Maintain a professional appearance and positive work attitude.

Schedule:

  • Five over Seven days, including weekends.

Experience Requirements:

  • PMS system (preferably Opera): 1 year (required)

  • Duty Management within a 4 hotel: 2 years (required)*

  • Food & Beverage: 3 years (required)
