As Leisure Centre Manager you are responsible for the overall performance and commercial success of the Leisure facility. The role will involve managing the Leisure Centre facilities and team to achieve the overall financial goals and objectives of the business. Ensuring programs and activities are designed by consulting with members and guests and requesting feedback whilst keeping up to date with the latest trends in the fitness industry. Consistently delivering excellent customer service across the facility. Leading, supporting, and motivating members and team members.
Key Duties
- Strong Leadership Skills
- Implement and increase revenue maximisation and profitability of the department
- Maintaining and responsibility of payroll management for the department.
- High level of responsibility and accountability
- Strong Management and organizational skills.
- Cultivate professional strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Excellent revenue management with use of budgets, P&L’s and forecasting.
- Open and Honest communication with teams, management, and Hotel Manager.
- Proactive approach to dealing with team members, guests, and members.
- Proactive approach to dealing with seen and unforeseen challenges.
- Maintaining and updating and recording of team one-to-ones, training, and other employee records to be supplied to HR.
- Adhering to deadlines and targets.
- Responsible for membership sales campaigns, events for members and social media activities.
- Implementing and maintaining the highest level of cleanliness for the Leisure Centre.
- Be available to work to an early or late shift rota to ensure lifeguard and supervisor/manager cover is available while the Leisure Centre is open, 7 days a week including weekends.
- Cover lifeguard and Personal training shifts where there are gaps in ongoing operations.
- Troubleshooting of Leisure Centre Equipment, to ensure that it is safe and in working order.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have at least 3 years’ experience as a Leisure Centre Manager in a fast-paced leisure facility preferably within a hotel environment.
- Be a motivated person responsible for creating a caring environment that promotes employee morale, engagement and encourages the team to have pride and commitment to their work.
- Excellent communicator, strong organisational and leadership skills.
- 3rd Level Qualification
- Experience in Training,
- Delivery and Evaluation
- RLSS / Irish Water Safety Lifeguard qualification
- Swim Instructor – Desirable
- Qualified Gym Instructor / Personal Training
- Fully Qualified Pool Plant Room Operator
- Valid First Aid Qualification
- Qualified Manual Handling Instructor
- Fluent English Written & Oral
