Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the pastry section, working closely with the Head Chef
- Prepare ingredients and handle baking equipment efficiently.
- Create pastries, baked goods, and confections following set recipes.
- Develop new recipes for seasonal menus.
- Decorate pastries and desserts for a beautiful and tasteful presentation.
- Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring availability of key ingredients.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and adhere to food safety regulations.
- Train and support junior kitchen staff as needed.
- Assist in various kitchen sections when required.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely and professional manner.
- Work collaboratively as part of a busy and efficient kitchen team.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a similar pastry chef role, preferably within a 4-star hotel environment.
- Be HACCP-trained and highly focused on food hygiene and safety.
- Possess a keen eye for detail and a creative flair for presentation.
- Have a professional appearance and a positive work attitude.
- Be capable of working as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
- Be flexible and available to work varying shifts, including weekends.
- Be legally entitled to work variable shifts on a full-time basis in Ireland.
