Restaurant Manager – Co Kildare

Choice People on behalf of Our Client currently seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Restaurant Manager to join their professional and highly skilled in-house team.

The Role:

This is a full-time position working an average of 45 hours per week. 5 days over 7 to include weekends and public holidays.

Main Duties:

  • Overall management of the food service of this 4* hotel property which includes a large restaurant situated over 2 levels, bar food and functions/events.
  • Management of a team of 10 staff working within the food service department of the hotel.
  • Liaising with the Senior Chefs on menus, menu costings and service standards.
  • Working with chef brigade on food standards during food service.
  • Management of budgets and targets for the restaurant /food service department of the property.
  • Weekly stocktakes.
  • Staff training and development
  • Driving sales initiatives for the restaurant/food service department – in conjunction with the hotels in-house sales team.
  • Covering duty management shifts within the hotel property.
  • Working closely with the hotels management team on the day to day running of this busy property.
  • HACCP.
  • Ensuring excellent service is provided to all guests to the restaurant and hotel in general.

Requirements:

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant venue.
  • Previous hotel experience within a 3*/4* property is desirable but not essential.
  • Must be HACCP trained.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be willing to help out where required in all areas of the hotel.
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of the restaurant industry and the new initiatives/innovations taking place within the industry.
  • Must have knowledge of financial reports.
  • Must have strong people management skills
  • Must have an outgoing personality as the Restaurant Manager will become an ambassador for the property as with all managers.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Must be available for early starts and late finishes – as a combination of both will be required.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language both written and spoken.
  • Must be enthusiastic and a quick learner.
