Bar and Lounge Supervisor

Job description

As Bar and Lounge Supervisor you will have responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the beverage service in both the bar and lounge areas throughout the hotel. It may also require assisting in the dining room where required. This role requires the person to have strong beverage knowledge specifically in Whiskey’s and Cocktails working closely with the Sommelier on site.

The ideal candidate must be a maestro in customer service and have previous experience working in a high end 5 Star environment at Senior Bartender/Bar Supervisor level.

Main duties & responsibilities include (but not limited to:)

• To work closely with the mixologist, maintain and elevate our beverage list.
• To ensure you are up to date on the daily menus and wine offerings to ensure you can make suitable recommendations and answer any guest questions and queries
• To keep traceability of all the beverages, make sure they are posted onto the proper room and to ensure the equipment is controlled and properly used
• Complete stocktakes as and when required
• Ensure the bar and pre-dinner station is set (assist where required) and the appropriate glassware and equipment are available and polished
• Make sure all menus are up to date, in good order and priced correctly showing the correct grammar and presentation.
• Plan, organise, control and review all service and systems to provide the best possible beverage service to guests.
• Ensures that F&B team consistently maintain a high level of quality service to restaurant, bar and lounge patrons
• Assist with opening and/or closing duties following all standards and procedures in place
• Share with and train other staff member’s knowledge on beverage, food, cheese and wine by the glass offerings.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Fluent English with Strong Communication skills
• Professional, well-groomed and presentable
• Excellent knowledge of food & beverage including knowledge of wine/whiskey/Cocktails
• A personable, charismatic and well-rounded hotelier preferably with supervisory & leadership experience within a luxury hotel background
• A culture creator that understands the importance and value of people and how to create a workplace where our people are of equal value as our guests
• A great team player that can motivate and lead staff members
• Own transport – full license.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join this unique 5-star luxury environment. This is a permanent role, 5 days over 7 days.
