Choice People are recruiting a Senior Estimator for a growing innovative manufacturing company in the Midlands. This Estimator role consists of the preparation of cost estimates, analysing tender drawings & documentation, ensuring tenders are submitted accurately and on time, maximising profit and customer satisfaction, as well as attending client meetings when required.

It is important to establish, maintain and enhance estimation policy, processes and procedures ensuring seamless integration with finance and technical IT systems

Key duties include:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Develop and maintain estimating policies and procedures to standardize and improve the estimation process.
  • Evaluate material, manufacturing, labour, transport and equipment costs to ensure
  • competitiveness and profitability.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and tender documents in accordance with project specifications and deadlines.
  • Review and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure completeness and
  • accuracy.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and track project costs against budget estimates, identifying and addressing any deviations.

Preferable Experience:

  • Qualification in Estimating / Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the built environment industries, with a
  • focus on estimating and quantity surveying.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
  • effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain policies and procedures related to estimating.
  • Knowledge of modern construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Professional certification or licensure (e.g., SCS, CIOB)
