Choice People are currently hiring General Assembly Operators for a leading company specialising in precision air handling equipment. This is a full-time opportunity to join a team focused on designing and developing cutting-edge cooling systems for critical industries such as telecommunications, edge computing, and healthcare.

As a General Assembly Operator, you will undertake a variety of tasks, including:

  • Product Assembly: Combining components to create fully finished products.
  • General Duties: Carrying out additional tasks, such as painting, as required.
  • Electrical Panel Assembly: Occasionally assembling electrical panels.
  • Wiring Units: Performing wiring tasks when necessary.

This role demands a combination of mechanical and electrical skills, along with a flexible approach to different assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow detailed work instructions to assemble and test products.
  • Assist in setting up production lines.
  • Operate assembly equipment, wire processing tools, and hand tools as required for assigned tasks.
  • Build products in line with specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Record labor activities on transit tickets.
  • Refer to the department Production Manual for general procedures and workmanship standards.
  • Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations.
  • Be familiar with and comply with all departmental procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Area Leader or Manager.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work towards achieving production targets.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to maintain high concentration levels.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Prior factory work experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement Programs.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a production environment.
  • Experience with electrics, pipework, plumbing, or sheet metal is an advantage.
  • Background in metal fabrication is a plus.

This is a Monday-to-Friday role with two shift options available, based on experience.
