As the Finance Manager reporting directly to the MD, you will serve as a key business partner, responsible for unlocking the full potential of the management teams and fostering strong relationships with shareholders. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach and a proven track record of success, particularly within the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the MD to develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive growth and maximise profitability.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to management teams, providing financial insights and guidance to optimize decision-making processes.
  • Day to day management of the companys accounts to include review all GL entries, all journals for accruals and prepayments, capture production labour and keep template products and pricing up to date
  • Managing team of 2, to help ensure accurate financial information is maintained in our internal Diomac system (e.g., ensure all customer pricing, promotional pricing, purchase orders, supplier invoices and queries, customer invoicing and queries, bank reconciliations, HR admin, transport and customs paperwork) are all kept up to date and accurate.
  • Own and nurture relationships with shareholders, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate financial performance, forecasts, and strategic plans effectively to shareholders and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax compliance, accounting standards, and internal policies to safeguard the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Oversee all financial functions, including monthly management accounts, year-end statutory accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, to support sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Analyse financial data and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and cost optimization.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Drive a culture of transparency and integrity across the organisation, promoting ethical behaviour and sound financial practices.

Requirements:

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • SAGE experience is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Previous experience of managing a finance team.
  • Previous experience in Food manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is also desirable.
