Choice People are seeking a Press Brake Operator for a leading company specializing in precision air handling equipment. This full-time position where you are part of a team that design and develop advanced cooling systems for critical environments such as telecommunications, edge computing, and healthcare.
The role of the Press Braker involves a variety of tasks, including:
- Bending Metal: handling and operating press machines that bend and shape metal parts according to designated specifications.
- Performing General Functions: Handling additional tasks as needed, such as painting.
- Electrical Panel Assembly: Occasionally assembling electrical panels.
- Wiring Complete Units: Wiring units when required.
This position requires a blend of mechanical and electrical skills, along with the flexibility to adapt to different tasks as needed.
Duties of the role include:
- Follow work instructions for directions to assemble and test product.
- Assist in the set-up of production lines
- Operate assembly and or wire processing equipment and hand tools as applicable to the product type assigned.
- Build products to work instructions, specifications and workmanship requirements.
- Record labour on transit ticket.
- Use the department Production Manual as a reference for general procedures and workmanship standards.
- Observe and ensure compliance with all company safety rules and regulations.
- Be knowledgeable of and comply with all departmental procedures.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Area Leader / Manager.
- Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
- Achieve production targets.
Key Skills:
- Good hand/eye coordination
- High concentration levels.
- Very safety conscious.
- Experience in factory work an advantage.
- Understanding and reading mechanical drawings.
- Familiar with Continuous Improvement Programs.
Requirements:
- Experience in a production environment.
- Experience with electrics / pipework/ plumbing/ sheet metal is an advantage
- Experience in Metal Fabrication an advantage.
* This is a Monday to Friday role with two shifts available, depending on experiences.
