Press Brake Operator

The role of the Press Braker involves a variety of tasks, including:

• Bending Metal: handling and operating press machines that bend and shape metal parts according to designated specifications.
• Performing General Functions: Handling additional tasks as needed, such as painting.
• Electrical Panel Assembly: Occasionally assembling electrical panels.
• Wiring Complete Units: Wiring units when required.

This position requires a blend of mechanical and electrical skills, along with the flexibility to adapt to different tasks as needed.

Duties of the role include:

• Follow work instructions for directions to assemble and test product.
• Assist in the set-up of production lines
• Operate assembly and or wire processing equipment and hand tools as applicable to the product type assigned.
• Build products to work instructions, specifications and workmanship requirements.
• Record labour on transit ticket.
• Use the department Production Manual as a reference for general procedures and workmanship standards.
• Observe and ensure compliance with all company safety rules and regulations.
• Be knowledgeable of and comply with all departmental procedures.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by Area Leader / Manager.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
• Achieve production targets.

Key Skills:

• Good hand/eye coordination
• High concentration levels.
• Very safety conscious.
• Experience in factory work an advantage.
• Understanding and reading mechanical drawings.
• Familiar with Continuous Improvement Programs.

Requirements:

• Experience in a production environment.
• Experience with electrics / pipework/ plumbing/ sheet metal is an advantage
• Experience in Metal Fabrication an advantage.

* This is a Monday to Friday role with two shifts available, depending on experiences.
