This is a reactive role and manages a team of three Sales and Events Executives and reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing. It is based on site in Co Laois.

Key objectives:

  • Responsible for driving sales in key markets of agreed segments & managing Key accounts in selected areas nationally and internationally
  • Managing Day to Day Events along with the Events Team
  • To maximise and optimise the selling of Hotel Bedrooms and Conference Space, ensuring the segmentation mix and customers within each segmentation we are targeting delivers optimal results that align with overall company goals in key target regions and segments
  • To manage selected corporate accounts in agreed market areas
  • To have a complete understanding of the hotels monthly forecast and develop continuous initiatives to achieve forecasts and develop a future pipeline of business in line with target markets
  • To identify and create new relationships for the company.
  • To attend trade events as required.

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all accounts both managed and target accounts are looked at from a 360 perspective – rooms – M&E – other opportunities
  • To ensure that solid relationships are maintained and developed in key accounts with a view to retain and grow these accounts
  • Responsible for ensuring the Weddings/Events Team are managed as their Line Manager
  • To develop new accounts in target regions and segments to ensure that a pipeline is being delivered for current and future business
  • To manage site inspections, providing key research into the client and communicate this to the hotel management team & interdepartmental teams therefore maximising the opportunity to convert the business
  • To mentor some of the junior team supporting and developing their sales skills
  • Management of the strategies relating to the sourcing, identifying and development of new business.
  • To attend and represent the Company where necessary
  • Key market responsibilities include Local Corporate and related TMC.
  • To ensure that adequate ROI is communicated and generated from attendance at sales activities & events
  • To be a senior member of the sales team and represent the DOS at internal or external events in their absence.

  • Previous experience within a similar role within a hotel environment in Ireland.
  • Strong communication skills
