Choice People are working with Discover Limerick DAC to recruit Service Assistants for the season ahead. The ideal candidate will be flexible in the skills, tasks and availability to move to several locations.
Discover Limerick DAC is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Visitor Services Assistants to join our team at:
- King John‘s Castle
- Adare Heritage Centre
- Lough Gur Visitor Centre
At Discover Limerick DAC, our mission is to create memorable visitor experiences that celebrate Limerick‘s rich history, heritage, and culture. As a Visitor Services Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring every guest has a positive and engaging experience while visiting our sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interact with visitors in a pleasant friendly and helpful manner
- Demonstrate a helpful and informed knowledge of the tourism offer and visitor information for Limerick and the Discover Limerick sites.
- Maintain internal and external cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ensure stock loss controls are followed in all areas of the site. Assist in the stock count process.
- Ensure waste is managed correctly.
- Adhere to cash handling procedures as per Cash handling policy.
- Comply with Health and Safety legislative requirements, policies and procedures and safe systems of work
Shift Patterns & Working Hours:
This is a flexible role requiring availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts. The business operates seven days a week, and shifts will be scheduled based on visitor demand, the tourism season, and special events. Occasional travel between sites may be required.
Shift Types:
- Morning Shift: Assisting with site setup, admissions, café operations, and general preparation for the day.
- Midday Shift: Engaging with visitors, maintaining site cleanliness, assisting with bookings, sales, and customer service.
- Evening Shift: Ensuring excellent visitor experiences, restocking, cleaning, and preparing the site for the next day.
Requirements:
- A passion for tourism, history, and customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience in hospitality, retail, or tourism is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Fixed term
Contract length: 5 months
Pay: €13.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
